Far from here, you begin to hear the start of a low thrumming of mechanical gears shifting in a repetitive beat, pistons releasing air sharply… While your eyes struggle to focus on the looming mirage across the horizon, the ground begins to quake with each footfall of what appears to be a mech unit, closing in to where you are. Before you have a moment to react, you hear an upbeat trill, and a flighty bird appears beside you wearing hi-tech aviator goggles.

“Come on, Cadet– We’ve got to rendezvous with them in 200 paces and we can’t afford to be late!”

Phew.. You’re feeling reassured that you are no longer the target, and that only allies lay ahead. The thought of who your foes are however… Let’s not think about that too deeply.
